Lake Effect Run Club

Get Hooked!

Hello Central New York Runners!

Welcome to Lake Effect’s Web Site!

Have a search around to see what we’re about.

On these pages expect to find out information about the local run scene, and how to get yourself motivated to join up with us no matter what your fitness goals are.

Hopefully while you’re browsing you’ll catch a little run bug and commit yourself to your next run journey with us. But first don’t forget to grab a run partner or 2 or 6!! That’s what we’re all about!!

If you’re not currently getting our e-mails you may sign up where it says “E-mail Subscription” in the lower right sidebar. Then you’ll get an e-mail when there’s an important new post to this web site about our next group run or Club activity. This will officially put you on our run list (welcome to the Club!). Of course your address will remain confidential and you may opt out at any time.

Feel free to leave Comments or questions on our busy Message Board. This is a FREE Club, however the more active you are on here, the more we all benefit!

Also be sure to check the Race Calendar Tab often. It’s Central New York’s most comprehensive Race Calendar!

And don’t be surprised if we spot you at a race and capture your photo in our photo site.

Our Club is growing by leaps and bounds so come ride the wave with us and we’ll see you out there!

  1. Dennis,

Glad you found us, and hope we get to meet your daughter soon! Tell her to look on the main page and the message board for weekday and our weekend runs. We are a great group of people, if I don’t say so myself, and enjoy the opportunity to meet new runners!

  2. Just “running” by and found your website! Our dsughter ran in the ARC half marathon last weekend and I was cruising the internet for pictures… and found you! I have sent your site address to her (a very recent transplant to Cicero) in hopes that she may want to check you out. What a great site!

  3. Ray and all the lake effect runners,

I wanted to say thanks for your support of Ophelia’s Place and the Cafe @ 407. I am a board member and have been involved with Ophelia’s Place since 2005. And from one runner to another, words cannot describe what your support means. We hope you enjoy the sense of community the Cafe brings to CNY.
    THANKS EVERYONE!

  4. Thanks Randy! A-shirt….hmmmmm. I’ve thought about it. Not sure if my running closet could fit one more t-shirt. It would be nice to increase our exposure. We need a creative design person who could create a logo 1st.

  5. Ray, make up some Lake Effect t-shirts!
I see this club only growing. What’s
cool is having two other clubs to pull
info from etc. from also. Who says ya
have to be loyal to one? Keep up the good
work! I’ll take a xxl by the way.

  7. Thanks for the comment Bill. I like your idea of a run calender. I’ll see if I can create that with this blog software. Until then feel free to create a new post when you’ve scheduled a run.

  8. Awesome. I love the web page. This brings our group to the next level. LERC is ready to organize into a full fledged organization of runners.

Maybe we can post a calendar of events that list the runs for each day of the week and allow the members to put their name on a specific day, i.e. Monday run 7am at OLP…Tuesday run at Baker HS at 6pm…

By having some more public options we may be able to have more participants and meet more folks who love to run in CNY.

Great job, Ray. Who knew that a conversation after the Butterfly Run would materilaize into a solid core group. This is truly motivating. I will stop eating junk food this weekend and stay in shape for what the future may hold.
